If there's one color palette that's going to prove extremely popular this season, it's the black and blue combination. Already spotted on the adidas NMD S1 "Core Black Altered Blue" that was revealed earlier this month, Nike is now giving it a go with the freshly-revealed Nike Air Max TW "Black University Blue." Inspired by the classic Air Max Tailwind series from the '70s, it has been given a contemporary makeover that's sure to turn heads wherever you go.
Painted in black, the upper of the Air Max TW is crafted from a lightweight mesh and boasts a four chevrons across the lateral and medial sidewalls as a nod to the OG Tailwind. Leather panels venture towards the lacing system and toebox, and underfoot, you'll find an extra chunky Max Air midsole that's surrounded by a series of bubbles throughout for that extra retro aesthetic. Of course, you can't talk about this sneaker without mentioning the university blue hues which hit the sockliner, lace loops, tongue badge, and the Swoosh, that's finely embroidered on the toe.
The Nike Air Max TW Black University Blue will release sometime in Spring 2023 in men's sizes for $160 at Nike and select retailers both online and in-store.
