Trends in the fashion world have shifted to creating silhouettes and apparel pieces that are more environmentally friendly as one of the biggest culprits of greenhouse gas emissions have been the fashion industry. For Nike, their “Move To Zero” initiative has proven successful with many silhouettes receiving recycled materials and new models coming specifically designed with environmental impact in mind. A clear example of this is the Nike Cosmic Unity 2, a performance basketball model that contains plenty of recycled materials. Now, ahead of the third iteration of the model, a “March Madness” inspired colorway has appeared.
Much like the Nike Air Zoom GT Cut 2 that recently emerged, this Cosmic Unity 2 takes on shades of orange as its accenting color, however, this model takes on a wolf grey color scheme for the majority of the upper. Throughout the upper, we see a two-tone grey and orange knit with wavy embroidery separating these panels in a solid orange hue. Working to the tongue, more wolf grey shades land on the neoprene and lace set while a fictional Nike University mascot takes over the tongue tag. Along the midfoot, a marbled Swoosh works back near the rubber heel counter while the pull-tab located nearby also features “Nike University” branding. Underfoot sits a grey rubber midsole containing a full-length Air Zoom unit paired with an orange rubber outsole.
The Nike Cosmic Unity 2 March Madness is set to release on March 1st, 2023 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
