Many would argue that 2020 was the last year we received quality materials on GR Dunks as The Swoosh has ramped up production on the increasingly popular silhouette. This leaves a gap in the market where those who want that premium construction either have to go back and find pairs on the aftermarket or hope that Nike utilizes better materials in the future. It seems that Nike has heard sneakhead's pleas as we’ve gotten first looks at a more premium take on the Nike Dunk High, coming in an LXX variant, appearing in a red “Cinnabar” colorway.
With the LXX moniker, the sneaker comes constructed out of higher quality leather and adds the material to the tongue tag and insole. The reddish-hued “cinnabar” lands on the mudguard, eyestays, and heel overlay while the underlay on the toebox, midfoot, and collar gets a neutral sail shade. Tonal cinnabar laces run up the sail tongue to the aforementioned leather tongue tag that is dressed in a mars stone shade that is also found on the Nike Swoosh along the midfoot. Finishing off the lux build is a white midsole with red accent stitching paired with a red rubber outsole.
The Nike Dunk High LXX Cinnabar W is slated to release in November 2022 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in women’s sizing, the retail price is $150.
