Nike Brings TCU Colors To This Nike Dunk High Retro BTTYS

From its inception, the Nike Dunk silhouette was intended to be a basketball shoe for various collegiate programs to utilize during games, spawning the infamous “Be True To Your School” campaign in the 80s. As the years have gone on, the luster of the BTTYS series faded as the Dunk Low and Dunk High became more lifestyle-oriented models and the connection to collegiate athletes dissipated. Some releases, like the upcoming HBCU Pack, keep this spirit alive as will the upcoming Nike Dunk High Retro BTTYS “TCU.”

Bringing the colors of Texas Christian University to this particular Nike Dunk High, vibrant purple shades land on the smooth leather mudguard, eyestays, and heel overlay while the underlays get a stealthy black finish on the toebox, quarter panel, and collar. Tonal purple laces run up the black mesh tongue that features purple hits on its lining and via the Nike branded tongue tag up above. Another branding detail that comes in purple, the Nike Swoosh along the midfoot, wraps back to a leather heel tab borrowing the same hue. Completing the design is a white Dunk midsole paired with a purple rubber outsole.

The Nike Dunk High Retro BTTYS TCU is set to release in January 2023 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $125.
