For Nike, a mixup of materials on their Dunk silhouette is usually a welcome change to the typical leather or suede makeup we’ve been used to since its inception in 1985. While models such as the Air Jordan 1 have already seen chenille Swoosh’s, the latest Nike Dunk High in “Gorge Green” gets this same material mixup.
Dressed in a majority two-tone black and gorge green across its leather underlays and overlays, the branding across the midfoot gets an enlarged redesign with white chenille covering the Swoosh. On the toebox, midfoot, and collar sits a smooth black leather, accented by the gorge green mudguard, eyestays, and heel collar. This same color also makes an appearance piping the enlarged Swoosh, working back to the green leather pull-tab on the heel. Along the black tongue is a set of flat laces borrowing the gorge green from the rest of the sneaker, working up to a white, red, and black Nike branded tongue tag. Below the black sockliner, this same white, red, and black makeup gets plastered on the insole and its Nike graphic. Rounding out the look is the summit white midsole paired with a gum rubber outsole.
The Nike Dunk High University Gorge Green is slated to release on July 15th, 2022 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $135.
