Nike’s ever growing Chinese New Year Collection consists of models across the board, including a Kyrie Infinity and a kids exclusive Nike Dunk Low. The latter is making its way from a low top to a Nike Dunk High, also in a “Year of The Tiger” themed colorway.
The base of this colorway comes in a two-tone suede grey and black. Toe box and mudguard in the aforementioned grey suede clash off the black suede of the mid foot panel and heel. Far East motifs are felt throughout the upper with traditional Chinese details embroidered across the Nike Swoosh, eyelet and heel overlay. The theme continues with tiger stripes on the heel and Chinese characters across the toe box that read “ward off evil” and “good fortune.” Working up to the tongue, a flap with embroidered gold ingots is revealed when lifted up. Down below, a white Dunk midsole sits atop the orange translucent rubber outsole with tiger spots throughout, tying the Year of The Tiger to this silhouette.
The Nike Dunk High “Year of The Tiger” is scheduled to release in the coming weeks, hopefully before the Chinese New Year is over. The pair will be available through Nike and select retailers online and in-store.
