A pivotal part of Nike’s history in the early 2000s, the CO.JP series saw some of the most exclusive colorways releases and paved the way for the current landscape of collaborations and ultra-limited releases. Some iconic pairs from the series include the “Linen” and “Cocoa Snake” AF1, however, the Dunk produced some of the rarest pairs like the recently retroed “Argon” or “Samba” colorways. Now, 2023 is set to introduce the world to a brand new CO.JP iteration of the Nike Dunk Low with earth tones and snakeskin patterns covering the sneaker.
Across the upper sits a collab of materials and brown shades with the mudguard and part of the heel overlay getting a sandy, washed-looking brown suede while the eyestays and top part of the heel overlay come in two different shades of brown. Beneath this sits a mesh material that covers portions of a snakeskin pattern, found on the toebox, quarter panel, and collar. Sail and black cover the tongue and lace set respectively with the “Nike” branded tongue tag getting the iconic “bred” treatment, however, the reverse features a nod to CO.JP and gives a small blip of history as the acronym (which stands for Concept Japan) was once the URL of Nike’s Japanese website. A CO.JP custom logo is also featured here and finds another home on the mesh insole, surrounded by black shades on the insole itself and the leather sockliner nearby. Rounding out the entire look is the sail midsole paired with a brown rubber outsole.
The Nike Dunk Low CO.JP Brown Snakeskin will release on May 26 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $120.
