The quality of Nike Dunks can vary with many of the most popular colorways. The infamous “Panda,” for example, utilized aheavily coated, low-quality leather for its construction. Those who want more quality can look to Nike’s “Premium” rendition of the Dunk Low, which uses higher quality materials than other general release versions. For its latest rendition of this more luxurious Dunk, The Swoosh applies a topographic pattern to the upcoming Nike Dunk Low Premium “Wavy Gravy.”
Covering the silhouette in an all-blue color scheme, sans the sole unit, a terrycloth base layer makes this pair stand out amongst the rest of the Dunk lineup. The shaggy material is applied to the toebox, quarter panel, and heel, and presents a wavy pattern reminiscent of topographical maps. Premium blue leather overlays wrap around the mudguard, eyestays, heel, and Swoosh, contributing to the shoe's monochromatic aesthetic. Additional features in the tongue, lace set, sockliner, and heel accentuate the blue design. Rounding everything out is the crisp white midsole paired with a blue outsole.
The Nike Dunk Low Premium Wavy Gravy will release July 15 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. It will be available in men’s sizing, with the retail price set at $120.
