Dating way back to the 80s, the Nike Dunk (especially in its Low form) has maintained its top spot in the sneaker world for the last few years. Coming in various colorways and collaborations, The Swoosh does switch things up on the almost 40-year-old model through new iterations like the High Up or Disrupt 2 that offer a facelift, though next year we’ll be seeing one of the biggest redesigns yet. Getting remastered with new tooling and a semi-DIY aesthetic, the Nike Dunk Low Remastered has just appeared in an “Olive” colorway.
DNA from the Peter Moore-designed Dunk remains with its low-cut form and panel placement, though tweaks to the Swoosh, tongue, and the addition of a pull tab make this stand out. Along the overlays sits an olive-tinted tumbled leather, found along the mudguard, eyestays, and heel while the base layer comes in a white mesh. Along the eyestays, stitching details pop in purple while hiding the eyelets that host a set of lace in a two-tone black-and-white color scheme. When it comes to the tongue all of this sits by, the materials are flipped inside out with internal stitching details and exposed foam giving the model a DIY look. Branding gets exaggerated thanks to the large Swoosh and “Nike” logo placed sideways on the tongue, though the heel forgoes its usual branding placement. Underfoot is where the biggest change comes as the old-school EVA cupsole is replaced with a full-length Air Strobel unit, contained by the usual Dunk midsole in a white finish. Rounding out the design is the slightly tweaked rubber outsole that comes in white and cream, featuring Air Strobel branding on the heel.
The Nike Dunk Low Remastered Olive is set to release in the Spring of 2023 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $120.
