While the hype and popularity surrounding the Dunk has reached new heights lately, what many newer sneakerheads don’t realize is that the former basketball shoe actually debuted almost 40 years ago. Over the past four decades, the world has transformed in countless ways, but the overall design of the Dunk has remained pretty much the same. While we’ve seen some pretty crazy colorways as of late, releases like the upcoming Nike Dunk Low "Sail Royal" are as clean as they come.
Dispatched in a clean sail leather, this Dunk is decorated with deep game royal tones across the side Swooshes and nylon tongue. Speaking of which, the usual “Nike” branding here has been reworked to be inspired by U.S. currency. With the iconic serif font, this dollar-influenced logo is also debossed around the heel and printed across the insoles. Rounding it all off, the outsoles are finished off in gum rubber.
The Nike Dunk Low Sail Royal is set to release in 2022. It will drop at Nike as well as select retailers worldwide, both online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, retail is set at $110.
