In a groundbreaking collaboration, Nike and Hyperice have unveiled a new suite of wearable technology designed to elevate the warm-up and recovery process for athletes. The Nike x Hyperice boots and vest are engineered to help athletes optimize their performance through innovative heat and compression technology.

"Recovery is an important part of any athlete’s journey, but we’re hearing from athletes that this concept of ‘pre-covery’ is equally as important," says Tobie Hatfield, Senior Director of Nike Athlete Innovation. The Nike x Hyperice boots and vest are crafted to prepare the body for activity, providing crucial support whether an athlete is vying for a championship or simply staying active at work.

The Nike x Hyperice boot is a high-top shoe that offers on-demand heat and dynamic air-compression massage for the feet and ankles. The shoe features dual-air Normatec bladders bonded to warming elements that distribute heat evenly, driving it deep into the muscles and tissues. This innovative combination accelerates the natural movement and recovery process, making athletes feel as if they've already completed their warm-up before beginning their routine.

Athletes can synchronize the heat and compression across both shoes with a single button or choose to control each shoe individually. The boots offer three distinct levels of compression and heat, powered by a battery pack in each insole.

Alongside the boots, the two have created a Nike x Hyperice vest that allows athletes to manage their body temperature with unprecedented precision. Utilizing technology from the Hyperice X line of contrast devices, the vest delivers instant heating and cooling without ice or liquid. Thermal modules with sensors autonomously monitor and maintain body temperature. In contrast, an air bladder and pressure sensor ensure a snug fit, enhancing both comfort and the effectiveness of the heating and cooling technology.

Nike's signature athlete, LeBron James, who has been integral in testing these products, states, “Taking care of my body has always been an important part of my preparation as a basketball player. From the moment I tried the Nike x Hyperice boots and vest while they were still in development more than a year ago, I knew they were going to change the game for athletes’ warm-up and recovery.”

Long-distance running champion Eliud Kipchoge echoes this sentiment: “I have used the Nike x Hyperice boots before and after many key training sessions this year. When using before a warm-up for a fartlek or hill session, it makes my legs feel light during the workout. I also use them post-run as a key part of recovering my muscles.”

Golfer Tom Kim and track and field athlete Nafi Thiam have also incorporated the boots into their routines, noting significant improvements in how they feel and perform during their workouts.

Anthony Katz, Founder and President of Hyperice, reflects on the collaboration: “Since the inception of Hyperice, we have taken a lot of inspiration from Nike, from the care and innovation we put into our products to how we connect with the athlete. This collaboration is the culmination of years of work between our two brands to deliver innovative footwear and apparel for the athlete to enhance their performance and recovery. And this is just the start.”

Neither Nike nor Hyperice has revealed the details of the release of the Nike x Hyperice Boot and Nike x Hyperice Vest. Both products will likely hit retail before the end of 2024. However, around 100 Nike athletes at the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris, France, will be wearing the boot and vest, continuing to test the product before the public can attain them.
