Nike’s vision for the future includes footwear that contains 100% recycled content and can easily and sustainably be recycled, completing its circular design vision. Though we aren’t there just yet, their closest attempt at this would be the Nike ISPA Link. Already released in two colorways, the silhouette now appears in a greyscale iteration.
Constructed using zero glue, the partially recycled sneaker gets completely covered in tonal greys from head to toe. Various knit patterns work across the sneaker to provide depth to this futuristic look while Nike and ISPA branding details in black complement the tonal look via the toe, heel overlay, and pull tabs. Wavy laces loop through two-tone nylon eyestays, though they serve no real purpose as the design is sock-like when worn. Underfoot, the sneaker gets a dual-density midsole and outsole combo that can be removed from the upper via the pegs placed throughout.
The Nike ISPA Link Light Iron Ore Smoke Grey is slated to release on August 26th, 2022 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $225.
