The sneaker world has recently been ablaze with the popularity of foam-based footwear, offering comfort and a minimalist aesthetic. Nike dove into this arena after the foam trend took off, offering its signature twist to the trend with releases like the Calm Slide series. As an alternative to this, the brand’s ISPA (Improvise, Scavenge, Protect, Adapt) lineup brought forward the ISPA Universal. Already launching in a handful of colorways, the latest rendition comes in earthy hues, aptly dubbed “Earth.”
The ISPA Universal Earth paints a picture of nature-inspired footwear. Dominated by a singular shade of earthy brown, this slip-on stands out with its distinctive molded structure that's reminiscent of age-old fossils. Key details, like perforations and strategic cut-outs on the toe forefoot strap, enhance the shoe's breathability. Nike's iconic branding stays understated, presenting a Swoosh on the heel tab and the cork insole, which bears the ISPA logo. This design-centric piece rests on a plush foam sole unit, which offers maximum comfort and showcases ISPA branding in a hue that complements the upper.
The Nike ISPA Universal Earth will release October 19, 2023, via Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men's sizes, it carries a price tag of $80.
