With a hole in the market for foam-based slip-on silhouettes due to the partnership between adidas and Yeezy coming to an end, other footwear labels have really made a push to fill the void. For Nike, their inline Calm Slide silhouette is still awaiting a release, though the more experimental division of The Swoosh (Nike ISPA) has already given the world a new slip-on model. Seen in a handful of colorways so far, the Nike ISPA Universal has just appeared in a clean “Smoke Grey” colorway.
Seemingly taking inspiration from archeological finds, the organically-designed foam silhouette features scaly details and various perforations around its upper with concave indents adding to its organic look. For this rendition, Nike ISPA dresses the model entirely in a tonal shade of “Smoke Grey.” Cut-outs are present near the forefoot while the heel features an extended curve to lock your ankle in place. For its insole, we see cork utilized with Nike ISPA branding present. Underfoot sits a foam outsole with an injection point in the heel, indicating its one-piece construction, as well as a traction pattern alongside more Nike ISPA branding.
The Nike ISPA Universal Smoke Grey is set to release June 15 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $80.
