Ja Morant is looking to have another solid season, and hopefully, a much longer one, as he is coming off of a season-ending surgery that took place back in January. So far, his first three games have shown he hasn’t been affected by the time off, though he already has had some soreness issues that made him miss the Grizzlies’ game against the Bulls on Monday. While taking the court in the 2024-2025 season, Morant will be rocking his newest sneaker with Nike, the Nike Ja 2, launched in September in the Induction colorway. Following the release of the Halloween-themed Nightmare rendition, Nike Basketball has prepped a King of the Court colorway alongside a recently revealed Nike LeBron 22.
On this kids’ exclusive Nike Ja 2, we see liberal use of iron grey shades, taking over the mudguard, eyestays, mesh toebox, and the synthetic panel on the lateral midfoot. This tonal grey finish is applied to the lace set, tongue, and sockliner, with the tongue tag hosting the first nod to the King of the Court theme. A custom Ja Morant-branded crest is placed in red, featuring his Nike logo, dragons, and number 12, with the same logo on the insole. Breaking up the iron grey finish of the profile is the red Swoosh on the midfoot, reaching back to the anthracite-shaded heel counter. The two-tone grey rubber midsole finishes the design paired with a red rubber outsole.
The Nike Ja 2 King of the Court GS will release on November 1, 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in gradeschool and preschool sizing, the retail price is set at $97 and $82, respectively.
