Kevin Durant’s illustrious career has seen the perennial all-star go by various nicknames, including the Slim Reaper. While Nike paid homage to this nickname earlier in the year with a KD 16 colorway, the theme will continue on Durant’s latest signature model, the KD 17, in 2025.
Unlike the Sniper colorway of the KD 17 that was recently launched, this pair opts for a vibrant orange color palette that transitions from a lighter shade near the toe to a darker orange back on the leather heel. The engineered mesh makes up the base layer, with reinforcements near the toe and midfoot. These two reinforcements are inspired by the Air Max Plus’ wavy, palm tree-inspired TPU overlays, coming in black on this colorway. A Swoosh logo is integrated into this midfoot overlay, coming in orange near the back half of the midfoot. Direct nods to KD’s Slim Reaper nickname are placed on the heel tab, as the anime is written out in a gothic font, while the tongue tag features a nod to his Easy Money Sniper name. Underfoot, the model has a white and orange foam midsole and an orange rubber outsole.
The Nike KD 17 Slim Reaper releases in Spring 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $150. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
