Nike Basketball may not be as popular as it once was, but its star players continue to release coveted kicks for ballplayers across the world. One player who, unfortunately, isn’t likely to continue his deal with Nike is Kyrie Irving. After numerous controversies on and off the court (including his comments on the “trash” design of what was then the Kyrie 8), it was all but confirmed that his next signature model would be his last. With first looks at the model coming a few months back, we’re set to get additional colorways like the recently revealed Nike Kyrie 8 “Eagle.”
For this particular colorway, mixtures of glacier blue, yellow strike, orange trance, oxen brown, and pearl white cover the ripstop and fused plastic construction. Wrapping around the toe box back towards the heel is a netted material that takes on the glacier blue shade, sitting atop a similarly shaded mesh (sans the yellow hits near the midfoot). Tonal laces continue this blue hue as do the fused overlays on the eyestays while a marbled effect is visible near the collar's perforated panel. Along the midfoot, a large Swoosh dips below the sole unit and comes with a 3D edge in orange while the inside is filled with a semi-translucent yellow shade. While not visible in this early photo, details paying homage to Kyrie’s mother come placed along the medial side of the sneaker with her birthday and name placed near the heel and toe respectively. Rounding out the design is a two-tone yellow and white foam midsole, featuring a full-length Air Zoom Strobel unit, paired with a yellow rubber outsole.
The Nike Kyrie 8 Eagle is set to release on December 8th, 2022 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
