The Jean Paul Gaultier x sacai x Nike LDVaporwaffle Mix Green Gusto Releaes November 2023

Collaborators for Nike stretch far across the globe with one of its most iconic partners in recent memory hailing from Japan - the Chitose Abe-founded sacai. Though their work stretches further back, 2019’s sacai x Nike LD Waffle became an overnight sensation and thrust the partnership to the forefront of what's hot in the streetwear/sneakerhead world. Since then, a series of collaborations across different silhouettes have come and gone with the latest taking on archival Nike silhouettes like the Magmascape Mid. Alongside an all-white colorway, sacai and Jean Paul Gaultier are taking inspiration from the “Green Gusto” colorway of the sacai x Nike LD Waffle and bringing it to the Nike LDVaporwaffle Mix.
While the sole unit below comes in the classic doubled-up construction from the OG LD Waffle, sacai updates the upper of the model with a multi-color mixture of woven materials. Leather and mesh are woven in a combo of green, red, yellow, and brown near the mudguard and between the upper and sole unit while the base layer features a green mesh spotted throughout the checkerboard design. Suede eyestays host a set of white rope laces that sit atop the doubled tongue which features a hit of sacai x Nike branding and sacai x Jean Paul Gaultier branding. Along the midfoot, we see a doubled Swoosh detail come in black and orange which flips the placement of the color scheme seen on the OG Green Gusto sacai x Nike LD Waffle. As previously mentioned, the sole unit comes double stacked in a white/cream finish while the black rubber outsole with a waffle traction pattern completes the design.
The Jean Paul Gaultier x sacai x Nike LDVaporwaffle Mix Green Gusto will release November 22, 2023 exclusively through Jean Paul Gaultier's website. Releasing in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $250.
