The Nike SB Dunk Low has experienced a meteoric rise in popularity over the years, with both collaborations and in-line releases capturing the attention of sneakerheads worldwide. Among the in-line offerings from Nike SB, the Orange Label series stands out with its simplistic two-tone palettes that resonate with purists and newcomers alike. Building on the legacy of its predecessors, such as "Navy Gum" and "Court Purple," Nike SB is set to introduce the "University Red Gum" as a coveted Orange Label exclusive.
This iteration of the SB Dunk Low opts for a build similar to the aforementioned Navy pair with an all-leather upper. The shoe's university red almost the entire sneaker, including the underlays and overlays, while the Swoosh on the midfoot takes on a white finsh. Thick rope laces and a padded tongue crown the shoe, both rendered in red. A touch of orange on the Nike SB-branded tongue tag indicates its Orange Label status. However, the phrase "Support your locals" inscribed on the tag's reverse encapsulates this release's essence, emphasizing the importance of supporting local skate shops. The design is completed with a gum rubber sole unit.
The Nike SB Dunk Low University Red Gum will release Summer 2024 through Orange Label Nike SB skate shops and potentially via Nike SNKRS. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $115.
