Nike has for decades crafted some of the greatest basketball sneakers of all time. Returning to the 80s, we saw the rise of the AF1 and Dunk that would continue well past their days on the hardwood court. Other silhouettes, like the Nike Terminator, fell to the wayside. Even though the model has played important roles in pop culture and has connections to the Georgetown Hoyas, its popularity has waned with The Swoosh vaulting the model for some time.
Finally, after years of no releases, we saw the return of the silhouette in its OG colorway back in 2022, followed by a series of new renditions still set to arrive in 2023. Just under two weeks after the release of Comme des Garcons Homme Plus’ three-pack of the model, the Nike Terminator High has just appeared in a Kentucky-like “White Game Royal.”
Keeping its classic all-leather build, the Nike Terminator “White Game Royal” also retains its collegiate connection with a two-tone color scheme utilizing white and royal blue. Game Royal leather overlays land on the mudguard, eyestays, heel tab, and Swoosh branding, while the rest of the model is doused in a stark white shade. Standard design details from the OG remain, like the perforated toebox, stitching details along the midfoot, and the large “NIKE” text placed on the heel. This branding, alongside the Nike tongue tag, comes in game royal, while everything comes complete with a white Terminator midsole and a game royal rubber outsole.
The Nike Terminator High White Game Royal will be released online and in-store on July 22nd, 2023, through Nike and select NSW retailers. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $125.
