The Y2K period has long been considered a golden era for adidas Basketball. This current renaissance they’re experiencing with signature athletes like Anthony Edwards and James Harden, as well as a callback to Y2K with its IIInfinity series, has brought more attention to The Three Stripes in this market segment. adidas reached back to the archives last year, reviving the Intimidation silhouette with the help of Packer Shoes in Stone Grey and Tech Ink colorways. They’re back working on the sneaker, this time in low-top form.
Like last time, Packer is getting two colorways of the adidas Intimidation Low, one in Parisian Blue and the other in Grey. Both pairs come with a canvas mesh base that contains a gradient pattern, transitioning from a light grey shade on the Parisian Blue pair to a vibrant sky blue and going from light grey to a blueish hue on the other color. Black TPU overlays cover the upper profile and reach back to the suede heel counter, as well as a nylon pull tab that accents the upper. Further accents are located along the lace set and tongue, featuring Intimidation and Packer along the tongue’s pull tab. Inside, we see split branding for Packer and adidas, represented through the Feet You Wear (FYW) logo. Finishing the design is the all-too-familiar adiPREME+ midsole, which was used on the adidas Yeezy 500, paired with a contrasting rubber outsole.
The Packer Shoes x adidas Intimidation Low Pack will release sometime before the end of 2024, as Victor Kan, Packer’s Brand Director, posted in his Instagram caption that the project is part of adidas’ Fall/Winter 2024 season. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price has yet to be announced.
