G-Dragon, famously of the Korean pop group Big Bang, is back with another colorway of the Kwondo 1, the original Nike silhouette in collaboration with G-Dragon’s brand, Peaceminusone. Spectator dress shoe color-blocking is a style from the 1940s, often seen on the feet of gangsters and dancers alike. Given G-Dragon’s storied history as an entertainer, however, it makes more sense that the wingtip dress shoe styling of the Nike Kwondo 1 invokes Fred Astaire flying across the stage in a pair over a prohibition-era gangster.
The Peaceminusone x Nike Kwondo 1 "Panda" comes in a classic black and white colorway. White smooth leather underlays are met with black brogue dress shoe styling around the heel counter, along the eyestays, and on the wing-tip accent on the toe. The solid black midsole and golf-inspired outsole match the premium black leather found on the removable lace shroud. Peaceminusone’s logo is stitched into the heel tab in its usual white daisy coloring.
The Peaceminusone x Nike Kwondo 1 Panda is set to release on April 11th, 2023, exclusively via Peaceminusone. A wider, worldwide release is set to follow on April 18th, 2023. It will drop on Nike and at select Nike retailers worldwide, both in-store and online. Coming in men's sizes, retail is set at $150.
