Nike SB has the ability to craft thematic sneakers like no other. Not only is this via inline releases, but with collaborative endeavors, and the latest is with the classic Cartoon Network show The Powerpuff Girls. The three stars of the show come to life on the Nike SB Dunk Low. This news was originally reported on by dadeasskickz and later confirmed by Nice Kicks.
The Powerpuff Girls x Nike SB Dunk Low Pack was assembled to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the show that first aired in 1998. Each of the three SB Dunks takes after the main characters, Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, with all featuring different construction. These materials shine through in the respective colors of the characters and feature an eyeball embroidered onto the heel. Branding details for The Powerpuff Girls are found on the tongue tag and tongue itself. On the reverse, the three pairs split up the ingredients that led to their creation, "sugar, spice, and everything nice." One hidden detail also references their creation as the reverse of the insole features the beaker that Professor Utonium breaks. The top portion of the insole contains a graphic with The Powerpuff Girls' nemesis Mojo Jojo, each depicting a different scene. Underfoot sits a black SB Dunk midsole paired with a tonal rubber outsole matching the color of each respective character.
The Powerpuff Girls x Nike SB Dunk Low Pack will be released December 14, 2023, through Nike SB-affiliated skate shops and on December 15 via Nike SNKRS. Coming in full-family sizing, the pairs will retail for $135 in men's sizing, $90 for preschool, and $75 for toddler.
