Originally released in 2000 during Allen Iverson’s MVP season, the Reebok Answer IV is one of the most popular models in his signature line. After being shelved since 2017, the silhouette came back from the vault in 2021 with OGs and new colors alike. On top of the recent Packer x Reebok Answer IV “Ultramarine,” we are given a look at a colorway inspired by AI’s historic "54 Point" game in route to beating the Toronto Raptors in Game 2 of the round in the 2001 Eastern Conference NBA Playoffs.
Constructed out of a premium white leather across the upper, grey accents can be seen throughout. These grey hits on the upper make their way onto the tongue branding and plastic wave with “I3” branding working its way up from the midsole. On the heel counter, this grey accent continues alongside a pull tab atop the heel. Foregoing a standard lacing system, the eyelets and laces are covered by a zipped shroud with a lock-down strap, providing a secure ride for the user.
Printed on the insole, a photo of Allen Iverson’s arm tattoos “Only The Strong Survive” and “Survive The Answer” are present, giving the colorway its name. Down on the midsole, a two toned grey and white rubber encases the DMX cushioning system. Rounding out the simple nod to AI, the rubber outsole comes in grey with herringbone traction and a photo of Allen Iverson himself underneath.
