While nowadays Reebok is far from the first brand that your mind conjures when thinking of performance basketball, the period between the 80s and early 2000s was filled with notable models and signature athletes that dominated the NBA. Of these legends that graced the NBA hardwood in Reeboks, Shaq and Allen Iverson are the two that come to mind and the Boston-based footwear brand is looking to pay homage to the two through a pack of Reebok BB 4000 IIs dubbed “Changing Of The Guard.”
Coming in three colorways, two are meant to pay homage to AI’s alma mater Georgetown and his NBA days with the 76ers while Shaq’s pair comes in a clean Orlando Magic-like colorway. The all-leather construction the silhouette is known for remains and comes with accenting hits along the mudguard, eyestays, midfoot panel, and heel while the vector logo and underlays share a monochromatic finish between each of the three colorways. On the 76ers pair, vibrant reds appear as the accent while the Georgetown and Orlando Magic pairs come in blue and black respectively. Reebok text gets placed on the tongue, midfoot, and heel while the entire design is finished with the rubber midsole and outsole that matches the color scheme of the upper.
The Reebok BB 4000 II Changing Of The Guard Pack is set to release on December 22nd, 2022 through Reebok and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price for all three pairs is set at $110.
