While Nike and Jordan Brand holds the top spot with ease nowadays when it comes to on-foot action via the NBA, Reebok had a strong period when Allen Iverson was rocking his iconic Question Mid. Players throughout the league were also spotted in the sneaker, though the most notable star to ever lace up a pair was Kobe Bryant. During his sneaker free agency after leaving adidas in 2002, Bryant took the court in a variety of models and brands from the AJ 11 to the Converse Weapon, and even had his very own colorway of AI’s Reebok Question Mids crafted for him. Now, two years since its last release, we’re getting this infamous PE colorway once again.
Coming in its classic tumbled leather construction, the upper partakes in a mainly white look with accenting gold and purple hits that give off serious LA Lakers vibes. Around the toe, bright golden yellow shades land while the eyestays that spell out “Reebok” in the purple/gold color combo host a set of white laces. This same combination can be spotted along the mainly all-white midfoot and tongue where an embroidered Reebok vector logo is visible. Back on the heel, another golden hit is present with a purple Reebok Question logo embroidered in its center. Heading to the insole, we get a direct reference to the day Kobe Bryant wore this exact colorway on the court against the Utah Jazz, December 8th, 2002, as this date is printed on the foam insert. Another notable phrase printed on the insole points to this pair possibly being exclusive to the retailer Shoe Palace as its name is placed below the Question logo. Rounding out the entire design is the white midsole with exposed yellow Hexalite units near the heel and forefoot paired with a gum rubber outsole.
The Reebok Question Mid Lakers Yellow Toe is set to release on February 10th, 2023 in men’s sizing for $130. Expect Reebok and a variety of retailers to carry the pair online and in-store.
