Shaquille O’Neil’s illustrious NBA career includes plenty of highlight moments on the court and, at one time, featured the legend rocking his line of Reebok sneakers. These silhouettes didn’t come at a low price during his playing days, with him eventually spawning his affordable line of sneakers independently after hearing a story of a woman who couldn’t afford to pay the prices of sneakers like the Shaq Attaq fetched. While this line has been successful, Reebok still releases colorways on the model mentioned above to this day, with the latest getting inspired by “Blacktop” basketball courts.
Like the asphalt-constructed outdoor basketball courts, the sneaker features a textured finish across its leather upper to mimic the material. This lands on the toebox and wavy midfoot panel while we see accenting hits of purple on the Reebok branding near the midfoot and atop The Pump logo. Tonal black laces match the various black panels along the tongue, which feature accenting grey hits near the Pump and via the TPU overlay. Aside from the black heel portions, we see other colors pop along the piping of the tongue and midfoot, as well as through purple stitching on the white overlay on the lateral side. Rounding out the design is a two-tone white and black foam midsole paired with a black and purple rubber outsole.
The Reebok Shaq Attaq Blacktop will be released on April 14th, 2023, through Reebok and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $180.
