While launching into fame through his resale/vintage store Round 2 and an iconic collaboration with Nike, Sean Wotherspoon has since found a home with The Swoosh’s biggest rival - adidas. Since beginning the relationship in 2020 with the German sportswear giant, we’ve seen Sean take over plenty of classic silhouettes and add his vintage and eco-friendly flair with releases like the adidas SuperEarth and more recently with the adidas Orketro. Now, Wotherspoon is once again tackling the Gazelle silhouette, this time with hemp construction.
Taking the classic Gazelle, Sean removes the typical leather details across the upper and instead replaces it with hemp throughout its design. Not only has he given this pair a hemp makeover, but also has a mushroom leather pair on the way as well. This hemp comes dressed in shades of green and white to give a two-tone look to the upper while the vamp, eyestays, and Three Stripes branding near the forefoot come finished with leather. More weaved panels appear thanks to the all-white tongue and orange Sean Wotherspoon-branded heel tab featuring his “SW” floral peace sign logo. Hemp branding near the Three Stripes completes the upper while the entire design is rounded out by a semi-translucent gum rubber midsole and outsole.
The Sean Wotherspoon x adidas Gazelle Hemp will release November 17, 2023 through adidas Confirmed and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is $140.
