Tennis legend Serena Williams is no stranger to The Swoosh. A Nike athlete since 2003, Williams continues to work with the brand via the Serena Williams Design Crew (SWDC) after retiring from tennis competition in September 2022. SWDC and Nike have created unique iterations of classics, such as the Air Max 1, Air More Uptempo, and Air Force 1. Up next, the two labels worked on the Victory Tech, a new silhouette inspired by retro design.
The SWDC x Nike Victory Tech takes direct inspiration from the Tech Hera, modified with a modern-day design. The sneaker comes in a clean white, metallic gold, and olive aura colorway, featuring an all-white design: the Huarache-like one-piece upper features neoprene, mesh, and leather. Metallic Gold branding graces the metal SWDC logo on the tongue and mini Swoosh on the heel. The plastic lacing system and arch are a direct nod to LA architecture. The olive aura-colored insoles pay homage to the court where Serena started her career. At the same time, inspirational quotes "Victory is very, very sweet." and "It tastes better than any dessert you've ever had." are printed on the inside of the tongue. A chunky midsole and translucent gum outsole complete the look.
The SWDC x Nike Victory Tech W will release on September 13, 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in women's sizing, retail is set at $120.
