Shoe Palace and New Balance continue to forge their path in the sneaker world with yet another compelling collaboration, this time themed around the powerful imagery of volcanic eruptions. The partnership is set to introduce the Volcanic Rock Pack, featuring two distinct colorways of the New Balance 2002R, each echoing elements of volcanic activity. Previously, the duo worked on the 2002R to celebrate the retailer’s 30th Anniversary last summer.
The Volcanic Rock Pack divides its theme into two representations: the first draws from the molten magma found beneath the Earth's crust. In contrast, the second interprets the airy vapors that accompany volcanic activity. The brown colorway utilizes a tight mesh base enveloped in various shades of brown, accented by shaggy and smooth suede overlays that mimic the rugged textures of cooling lava. On the other hand, the blue colorway features a more spaced-out mesh base, symbolizing the expansive nature of air, with blue suede overlays enhancing the theme. Bright red accents on the sockliner of the blue pair and a lava graphic on the insole of both colorways further emphasize the volcanic inspiration. Both sneakers are finished with a two-tone 2002R midsole and a robust black outsole, ensuring durability and style are equally prioritized.
The Shoe Palace x New Balance 2002R Volcanic Rock Pack will release April 26, 2024, exclusively at Shoe Palace retail locations and online via its website. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150 for each pair.
