Skechers surprised many when they entered the performance basketball space. Off-rip, the LA-based footwear brand has secured some top talent, including Joel Embiid, Rickea Jackson, and Terance Mann, the latter two rocking the SKX Nexus silhouette. Skechers has just launched this performance basketball model in a Black Purple Pink colorway.
Coming in a low-top cut, the SKX Nexus comes with an engineered mesh base that provides breathability and durability. Accenting this are purple, pink, and volt green accents. The first pops of purple come via the two-tone black lace set and the Skechers “S” logos on the tongue and collar, the latter featuring volt green on the trim. Durability is also found via the fused TPU overlays near the toe, eyelets, and heel. Underfoot, the midsole comes in a gradient pattern, transitioning from pink near the toe to a purple hue near the heel, and is paired with a volt green outsole. As for tech specs, the cushioning includes Skechers Move Foam on the insole, 5-GEN Foam in the midsole, and a Goodyear rubber on the outsole.
The Skechers SKX Nexus Black Purple Pink was released on October 15, 2024, and is available now on Skechers’ website. Offered in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $100.
