SLAM Magazine has long been a cornerstone of basketball culture, bridging the gap between hardwood and streetwear since its debut in 1994. As it celebrates its 30th anniversary, the publication has been teaming up with various footwear brands to celebrate cover athletes and SLAM itself. So far, Sabrina Ionescu’s Nike Sabrina 2 comes in a color scheme inspired by her cover on issue #231 of SLAM. Still, Allen Iverson’s cover appearance on the 32nd issue inspires a friends and family color of the Reebok Question Low.
Inspired by the "3 of Diamonds" graphics in Iverson’s 32nd issue feature, this Question Low takes cues from luxury diamond-encrusted watches. The sneaker’s frosted midsole and toe cap emulate the texture of sprayed and “bust down” diamond timepieces. Alternating SLAM, Reebok Vector, and Question logos adorn the tongue and heel, while the "3 of Diamonds" motif appears on the lower heel circle and forefoot outsole.
Paying homage to Iverson’s nickname, BUBBA CHUCK is etched into the eyelets. The insole and packaging are just as detailed, featuring alternate portraits of Iverson from the era and SLAM’s 30th Anniversary branding. The sneaker box is decorated with a powerful forward from Iverson for the 30 Years of SLAM book: "We made it OK to be you, to be authentic, in the NBA."
Unfortunately for the public, the SLAM x Reebok Question Low 30th Anniversary is a friends and family edition, with only 300 pairs produced. Check below for detailed images of the sneaker, and download the Sole Retriever mobile app for the latest happenings in sneakers, streetwear, and more.
