Slam Magazine Gets An adidas Gil Zero Restomod Collaboration
Updated on •Published
Former NBA player and current basketball analyst Gilbert Arenas was at one time a star for adidas basketball, though they eventually cut ties due to controversy in 2010. Now over a decade later and we’re set to receive plenty of colorways of an updated version of his first signature sneaker, the adidas Gil Zero Restomod. Calling back to a previous collaboration, adidas is linking up with Slam Magazine for their take on the updated Gil Zero.
Wild vibrant colors take over the low-top basketball sneaker with black contrasting throughout. Bright orange overlays located on the mudguard, midfoot strap, tongue, and heel compliment the blacked-out base layer of perforated nubuck running from the toe towards the heel. Taking over the vamp and eyestays sits a cheetah-print black and blue leather overlay with a hit of volt green appearing on the vamps Three Stripes logo. Back on the heel, more adidas branding appears in a mix of blue and volt green. Internally, a black sockliner and insole get contrasted by more volt hits courtesy of the “BOOST” graphic. Moving down to the Boost midsole, vibrant orange takes over with Three Stripes reaching up from the outsole and appearing in yellow. Rounding out the look is a rubber outsole that shares all the colors found on the upper throughout its grippy traction pattern.
The Slam x adidas Gil Zero Restomod is slated to release in August 2022 through adidas and select Three Stripes retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, retail is set at $150.
