The Sneaker Brands Represented by The 2025 NBA All-Star Roster
PublishedThe 2025 NBA All-Star Game is just two weeks away, and while we’re all looking forward to the game, festivities, and sneaker drops surrounding the event, Sole Retriever has decided to look at what brands are represented on this year’s roster. This year’s All-Star selections reveal an interesting breakdown of which sneaker companies hold the most sway among the league’s elite, with Nike continuing to lead the way. At the same time, adidas, Under Armour, and emerging brands make their mark.
You can immediately see Nike’s enduring influence starting with the Western Conference. Out of the 12 players selected, six are signed with Nike: LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Victor Wembanyama, Anthony Davis, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Alperen Şengün. These include two of the most recognizable signature athletes, LeBron and Durant, who have been pillars for Nike Basketball for over a decade. Wembanyama, the 7-foot-4 phenom, represents the brand’s future, with the Spurs star recently getting his own All-Star Game colorway of the GT Hustle 3.
adidas isn’t far behind in the West, boasting three players: Anthony Edwards, James Harden, and Jalen Williams. After launching the adidas AE 1 in December 2023, Edwards has quickly become the face of adidas Basketball, while Harden, who just released his Harden Vol. 9, remains a veteran presence for the brand.
Under Armour and Curry Brand secure their lone representative with Stephen Curry, who continues to be the flagship athlete for UA’s basketball division. Meanwhile, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the lone Converse athlete, remains a key figure in the brand’s efforts to regain traction in the performance basketball market.
361, a relative newcomer to the All-Star stage, is represented by reigning Finals MVP Nikola Jokić. This marks a rare appearance for a Chinese sportswear brand in the NBA’s midseason classic.
On the Eastern Conference side, Nike once again holds the majority, with six players rocking the Swoosh: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Tyler Herro, Cade Cunningham, and Pascal Siakam. The lone representative for Jordan Brand is Jayson Tatum, who is currently onto his third signature sneaker. Back to Nike, Giannis, with his established Giannis Freak line, remains one of Nike’s most significant international ambassadors.
adidas follows closely with three players: Damian Lillard, Donovan Mitchell, and Evan Mobley. Now playing in Milwaukee, Lillard remains a cornerstone of adidas’ basketball efforts with his Dame line, especially after he signed a lifetime contract with the label. Mitchell has steadily maintained his presence with his DON Issue series, launching his D.O.N. Issue #6 last summer.
New Balance gets a seat at the table with Darius Garland, a rising star who has helped push the brand’s basketball line forward alongside Kawhi Leonard.
Jaylen Brown stands out as the sole representative for 741, his self-funded brand that makes him one of the few active NBA players with an independent sneaker venture.
As the 2025 NBA All-Star Game approaches, these brands will all be looking to maximize their exposure, whether it’s through new colorways, surprise unveilings, or social media hype. Images of Nike Basketball’s Black Label Collection have begun to hit the internet, an ultra-limited series of luxury-inspired colorways on signature models from Giannis Antetokounmpo, Sabrina Ionescu, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Ja Morant.
Jordan Brand will be looking to make its presence known through the launch of the Air Jordan 1 High 85 Bred, the most accurate recreation of the original 1985 version of the AJ1, in conjunction with the model’s 40th Anniversary and the release of the Jordan 1 Retro High Black Toe Reimagined.
