Rising Hollywood star Storm Reid first signed with New Balance as a brand ambassador in 2021 and is now getting her first collaborative project. Known for her Emmy-nominated performance in Euphoria and The Last Of Us, Reid is stepping into a new arena, blending her style with the classic New Balance CT302.
Reid's take on the New Balance CT302 is both sophisticated and understated, employing a neutral color palette. She balances hues of white, cream, grey, and blue across the sneaker's design, crafting a timeless look with a youthful twist. Inspiration for this color scheme comes from the Y2K era of Atlanta, the hometown of the actress. The "N" logo and heel tab are finished in a rich blue suede, contrasting subtly with the grey suede panels on the mudguard, eyestays, and heel. The sneaker's base is dressed in white leather, a minimalist backdrop that lets the other colors shine. Personal branding details are stamped on the tongue, a nod to Reid's creative input, while “1720” is hidden inside the sneaker as a nod to her faith. The design concludes with a chunky platform sole in white, matched with a robust rubber outsole.
The Storm Reid x New Balance CT302 will release August 4, 2023, exclusively in North America via New Balance's website. Retailing for $110, the sneaker will be available in unisex sizing.
