The Museum DC has been a staple in the DMV area for years, consistently merging street culture with powerful community-driven messages. This August, they’re taking their influence to new heights by teaming up with Under Armour for a fresh collection titled Give 'Em Their Flowers, a series inspired by the DMV's deep-rooted floral traditions. The collaboration focuses on the Under Armour Apparition silhouette, with three vibrant colorways dedicated to different flowers that symbolize the area’s resilience, beauty, and enduring community spirit.
The Give 'Em Their Flowers Collection features three distinct sneakers, each drawing inspiration from a different aspect of the DMV's floral history. The first colorway celebrates the Okame Cherry Tree, known for its early spring pink blossoms representing renewal and hope. This sneaker brings that essence to life with soft pink tones, delicate floral accents, and refined detailing that mirrors the elegance of the Okame Cherry Tree. Next is the Cherry Blossoms Festival colorway, which nods to Washington, DC's iconic springtime event.
The festival’s significance goes beyond its picturesque beauty, symbolizing international friendship and the fleeting nature of life. The sneaker embodies these themes with a palette of pink and white, while festive touches capture the spirit of the annual celebration. The final colorway draws inspiration from the U.S. Botanic Garden. With a blend of greens and floral motifs, this sneaker reflects the garden's diverse plant life, celebrating growth, harmony, and nature’s beauty.
The Museum DC x Under Armour Apparition Collection will release on August 25, 2024, through The Museum DC online and in-store. Pricing details have yet to be announced.
