Building upon their storied collaboration, adidas and The Simpsons are back at it again, spotlighting the Rivalry 86 Low silhouette. While sneakerheads await the anticipated three-pack drop inspired by the Itchy, Scratchy, and Poochie show, the latest draws creative cues from the iconic "Treehouse of Horror" series. This pair pays homage to Treehouse of Horror VII, where Bart's evil twin, Hugo, takes the limelight.
Reflecting Bart and Hugo's characteristic apparel, the sneaker flaunts a canvas and leather construction bathed in a dominant orange shade, interspersed with yellow, blue, and white pops. The white leather cleverly graces the vamp and adidas' Three Stripes, while a striking yellow tumbled leather, punctuated by a red embroidered gash, dominates the medial midfoot. This evokes memories of the scar Bart discovers on himself in the episode. A co-branded adidas and The Simpsons insole sits snugly against a blue sockliner. The shoe's rope laces echo the very rope Hugo uses to restrain Bart, and the inner tongue tags depict portraits of the twins: Bart on the left and Hugo on the right. Sealing off the design is a crisp white rubber sole unit. Beyond the shoe, even the packaging immerses fans in the narrative, adorned with Treehouse of Horror text and character silhouettes. As an endearing throwback, fish head stickers abound within the box, recalling Hugo's eccentric meals.
