Founded in Korea back in 2009, thisisneverthat has continued to grow within the streetwear and high fashion world, though they have entered the footwear space in the past with collaborations courtesy of Boston-based New Balance. Previously working on the NB 860v2, 1906R, and 2002R, the duo is set to release yet another colorway of the ever-popular 2002R.
Taking cues from their previous 2002R, the silhouette appears in shades of cream, grey, and white with hints of navy blue sprinkled throughout. Suede overlays along the mudguard, midfoot, and heel come in grey, while leather overlays in navy sit around the white mesh on the toe and collar. More grey tones appear on the tongue, laces, and N logo along the midfoot. Though there are no detailed photos at this time, thisisneverthat branding should appear on the silhouette, whether that be on the tongue tag, insole, or both. Rounding out the look is the white foam midsole paired to a navy rubber outsole.
The thisisneverthat x New Balance 2002R is slated to release during the Fall of 2022 through New Balance, thisisneverthat, and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is TBA.
