While exclusivity often drives the hype behind sneakers, Tom Sachs has a different outlook on how we should be viewing sneakers. Originally working with Nike on the highly coveted “Mars Yard” in the 2010s, Tom Sachs introduced the world to the NikeCraft General Purpose Shoe in 2022 which has been marketed as a “Boring” design that prioritizes functionality over form. Seen so far in a handful of colorways, Fall 2023 will see the silhouette take on a “White Gorge Green” colorway.
Keeping its same mesh, suede, and TPU construction, grey and white shades take over the majority of the upper with grey suede, white TPU, and white mesh landing near the toe. More grey suede lands on the eyestays while the lace set continues the tonal white hues, contrasting the muslin tongue and sockliner. Atop the tongue and on the heel sits a black pull tab while the Nike Swoosh along the midfoot accents the rest of the colors used as it comes in a gorge green hue. Underfoot sits a gum rubber midsole paired with an outdoor-ready black rubber outsole.
The Tom Sachs x NikeCraft GPS White Gorge Green is set to release Fall 2023 through Tom Sach’s website, Nike SNKRS, and select retailers online and in-store. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $110.
