The Travis Scott x Nike partnership has birthed some of the most high-demand and hyped products the Swoosh has seen since Virgil Abloh’s “The Ten” collection, garnering insane resale prices and drop days that are usually filled with frustrations, errors, and countless L’s. Now, the rapper-turned-marketing-wizard is set to put his spin on one of Nike’s most underappreciated silhouettes, the Nike Air Trainer 1. Coming to us in a dual-drop of “Light Chocolate” and “Grey Haze,” the Travis Scott x Nike Air Trainer 1 is on the horizon.
Unlike many of Travis Scott’s previous releases, the Air Trainer 1 “Grey Haze” forgoes the earth-tone browns and instead utilizes a mix of grey haze, tan, and olive across the canvas upper. Shades of grey don the toebox, midfoot, and rear of the sneaker while the lockdown strap and laces come in a mix of bright tan and green. CACT.US Corporation branding sits above the previously mentioned lockdown strap and heel while its “CC” logo can be found atop the perforated tongue.
No Travis collab is complete without some change to the Nike Swoosh, leaving only stitching details on the lateral side and flipping the logo on the medial side. Adding a utilitarian feature, Scott designed the silhouette to allow for a sheath to cover the upper thanks in part to the buttons located around the model. A zipper pouch placed on the heel is surrounded by a two-tone grey and black checkerboard pattern, also seen on the mudguard on the front. Rounding out the look is the grey haze midsole and outsole combo.
The Travis Scott x Nike Air Trainer 1 Grey Haze is set to release on May 20th, 2022 via raffle on shop.travisscott.com, with a wider release including a SNKRs following on May 27th. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $140. To stay updated on the latest from Travis Scott x Nike, keep it locked to our Twitter andMobile App to stay up to date on future releases.
