Trophy Room, owned by Michael Jordan’s son Marcus, is infamous for its collaborations with Jordan Brand. Previously, we have seen Marcus Jordan and Co. craft a series of sneakers that nod to moments in MJ’s career, including the Air Jordan 1 High Freeze Out, calling back to MJ’s first All-Star game, and the AJ 7 New Sheriff In Town, which calls to the Greatest Game Nobody Ever Saw (a Team USA game that took place in 1992). Now, according to Brandon1an and MrUnloved1s, a new collab between Trophy Room and Jordan Brand is set to go down on the Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG.
Months following this news, Marcus Jordan debuted the sneaker on the final episode of the Full Size Run show. He revealed that there are two pairs of the Trophy Room x Air Jordan 1 Low OG and both are inspired by his father. One of the inspirations comes from MJ's 1986 Fleer Basketball rookie card and a photo from a 1984 issue of Sports Illustrated that sees Jordan rocking the Black Toe AJ1 High.
For the "Away" colorway, red hues take over the polyester mudguard and eyestays with the lower eyestay hosting an embroidered Trophy Room logo. On the toe, tongue, quarter panel, and sockliner are white hits while the Swoosh and heel overlays come in black. The Jordan Wings logo comes in metallic gold on the heel and MJ's signature gets embroidered in black on the lateral heel. Final branding hits include a Jumpman on the left sneaker's insole and Trophy Room's logo on the right. Finishing the design is the aged rubber midsole and a red rubber outsole.
A second pair of AJ1 Lows is also part of this collaboration, being dubbed "Home." This pair, limited to an in-person release at the Trophy Room store in Orlando, Florida, sees an almost identical construction and color blocking sans the white Swoosh and blue/yellow trim.
The Trophy Room x Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG will release in the Away colorway on March 14, 2024, via Trophy Room with the EQL raffle beginning March 11, 2024. The pair will also release via SNKRS on March 21, 2024. As mentioned previously, the Home pair is exclusive to Trophy Room in-store, while the Away will be released only via Trophy Room and SNKRS. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
