Performance basketball shoes have long taken inspiration from the galaxy, with Steph Curry and Under Armour looking to the stars for the latest Under Armour Curry 12 collection. On top of the Shooting Star and Gravity renditions, the Wardell Mode colorway is joining this group inspired by the galaxy.
Drawing from the inner drive that elevates Curry’s game to unprecedented levels, the naming convention for the sneaker comes from Steph’s actual first name, Wardell. Black engineered mesh covers the upper, an homage to dark energy, a hypothetical substance proposed to make up nearly 70% of the universe. Contrasting the dark shade are hits of grey on the reinforcement near the lateral toe and the two-tone black and grey lace set. Branding for Steph Curry makes its mark on the tongue tag, with the Curry logo in white, while the lateral portion of the midsole contains a black logo on the TPU insert. The white UA Flow midsole finishes the design, with the TPU insert coming in black and featuring grey speckle patterns paired with a UA Flow outsole.
The Under Armour Curry 12 Wardell Mode will release on November 8, 2024, through Under Armour and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
