One of Jordan Brand’s most prolific collaborators in the last few years, Union LA, has enjoyed working on some of the most iconic Air Jordan sneakers. Starting with the Union LA x Air Jordan 1 High in 2018, the DIY and vintage aesthetic brought forth by Chris Gibbs and his label has made this one of the most valuable AJ 1 collabs on the secondary market. Union followed this with four AJ 4s, a two-pack of AJ 2s, and, most recently, the AJKO 1 Low.
Not only has Gibbs been able to partner with JB, but so has his wife, Elizabeth Gibbs (who often goes by Bephie). Her brand, Bephie’s Beauty Supply, worked with Jordan in 2022 on a two-pack of Air Jordan 7s. Following the first look at the Union LA x Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG SP “Woven” that featured details nodding to BBS (Bephie’s Beauty Supply), we’ve got confirmation that another Jordan silhouette is getting worked on by the Gibbs’ - the Air Jordan 1 Elevate High.
This women’s exclusive version of the Air Jordan 1 was first introduced to the world in as a low-top and changed fine details of the AJ 1s upper such as branding details coming in outline form. Its most significant change comes on the sole unit, where a chunky platform sole replaces the usual thin rubber on standard AJ 1s. For this upcoming Air Jordan 1 Elevate High SP, we know it has a connection to Union LA and Bephie’s Beauty Supply asboth brands as a triple-branded apparel collection is set to hit shelves alongside the AJ 1 High, and this Elevate version.
As for the model's look, a woven, Footscape-like upper similar to Union’s latest AJ 1 High is present. Sail tubmled leather dresses the upper with kinetic green accents on the stitching near the collar and the midfoot Swoosh. For the Wings logo, we see an orange shade contrast the yellow Union LA tag just below. Underfoot, the stacked midsole comes in a sail finish while the outsole gets a gum makeover.
The Union x Bephie’s Beauty Supply x Air Jordan 1 Elevate High SP W will be released on August 24, 2023, alongside the standard AJ 1 High, via Union LA while Nike SNKRS will release the pair on August 26. Launching exclusively in women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $200.
