Salomon has maintained its technically focused heritage with the current collab culture in footwear, recently teaming up with brands like MM6 Maison Margiela and Kith. The French brand is linking up with Virginia-based streetwear label Vandy The Pink to bring his burger aesthetic to the Speedcross 3 silhouette.
Previously, Vandy The Pink worked with Clarks Originals in October last year and brought a hamburger theme to the Wallabee silhouette, doing the same with Salomon Speedcross 3. Unlike the Clarks collab, which saw a “sesame seed bun” upper host graphics for a hamburger on the insole, this pair directly translates the color palette of the quintessential burger onto the upper. Mustard yellow hues land along the mudguard, transitioning into a brown hue representing the beef patty as you move back on the upper. Ketchup and lettuce appear through green around the sockliner and hits of red on the Vandy The Pink-branded tag along the tongue. Now, what goes perfectly with a burger? A side of fries, of course. Vandy delivers this via the co-branded insole containing a fresh french fries graphic print. On top of the food theme present, the sneaker retains its technical features, such as the Sensifit construction, Quicklace system, and the Speedcross lugged outsole, which comes in a ketchup-red finish.
The Vandy The Pink x Salomon Speedcross 3 Burger will release sometime before the end of 2024, as select European retailers have already listed the pair on their sites. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price has yet to be announced.
