Beginning as a Tumblr page by Alex Lopez in 2011, Youth of Paris has become one of the hottest up-and-coming streetwear labels out of France and has since collaborated with large brands like adidas to further its grungy aesthetic. Following up on a collaboration back in 2022 on the adidas Campus 80 in a black and neon green-covered colorway, the duo is now introducing a “Crystal White” pair.
Taking on a patchwork-like design language with embroidered details throughout, grey and cream shades take over most of the upper. Corduroy panels land on the toebox, midfoot, eyestays, and tongue while torn-away TPU runs along the edge of the collar and midfoot in a similar grey hue. Darker grey shades land near the sidewall between the upper and sole unit with a jagged edge while the Three Stripes branding is partially covered by wild embroidery. This design works back to the heel where the leather adidas-branded panel gets attached by bright neon green stitching. Atop the tongue sits our only visible hit of Youth of Paris branding with the label’s graffiti logo featured in purple and white. A co-branded insole completes the upper while the rubber midsole and outsole come in a semi-translucent purple finish with more Youth of Paris branding below the outsole.
The Youth of Paris x adidas Campus 80s Crystal White is set to release on May 2nd, 2023 through Youth of Paris, adidas, and select retailers online and in-store. Releasing in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $120.
