Nike SB has been on a tear in 2023 with the skate-focused division of Nike bringing us a slew of collaborations to kick off the year, including the highly anticipated Jordan 4 crossover. Outside of collaborating within The Swoosh, we’re all still waiting for Run The Jewels, Jarritos, and Born X Raised to bring forth their take on the coveted SB Dunk Low, however, the Sandy Bodecker-founded label has more tricks up their sleeve for the year. Teaming up with Nike SB team rider Yuto Horigome, the Japanese-born skate prodigy is getting his own colorway of the coveted Nike SB Dunk Low.
Taking on a suede and leather construction, the Yuto Horigome x Nike SB Dunk Low keeps things relatively simple with a two-tone color scheme taking over most of the upper while accenting hits of chocolate brown and pink land on the heel portions. For its overlays, a slate blue or greyish suede appears on the mudguard, eyestays, and heel overlay while the toebox and quarter panel come with high-quality smooth white leather. Total white laces match the canvas tongue which features a co-branded Nike SB and Yuto Horigome tag in grey. Along the midfoot, we see the Nike Swoosh receive a greenish-grey makeover and run past a feather logo encircled by white. Internally, custom insoles feature Nike SB and the cross feather logo on the left and right inserts respectively in a cloud-like design. According to Yuto himself, this feather logo was designed by Kunichi Nomura and Verdy. Rounding out the design is the white SB Dunk midsole paired with a chocolate brown rubber outsole as well as a set of pink and brown laces included in the packaging.
The Yuto Horigome x Nike SB Dunk Low is set to release on August 29, 2023 through Nike SB-affiliated skate shops and Nike SNKRS. Releasing in men’s sizing, retail is set at $130.
