While most releases from Jordan Brand outside of the Air Jordan or signature basketball line usually get passed over by sneakerheads, some silhouettes resonate. For example, the initial models from JB in the early 00s still hold near and dear to OG fans of the brand, such as the Jumpman Team 1, Jordan Pro Strong, and Jordan Pro Quick. Another style that gets respect is the Jordan Trunner LX, a silhouette that has had its fair share of controversy since its original release 25 years ago.
One of Jordan Brand's first non-basketball sneaker offerings, the Jordan Trunner LX, was marketed well, with several Jordan Brand athletes modeling it in campaigns. However, it was recalled after the shoe made it to store shelves. The metal clip on the back heel was defective, causing it to cut into people's feet.
Despite positive feedback on the design, the Jordan Trunner LX couldn't escape its negative impact due to its defect. The Jordan Trunner LX would return in small doses as years passed and was no longer defective. Still, the damage to its reputation had been done as the silhouette never reached its potential that it might've had the recall never took place.
While many sneakerheads of the current generation might not know the history of the Trunner, the sneaker is still a big part of Jordan Brand's legacy. That's why, in 2025, the Jordan Trunner LX is back to celebrate its 25th birthday.

After checking out the Luminous Green pair, another women's exclusive colorway has surfaced, Light Orewood Brown. Featuring traditional colorblocking, light orewood brown covers most of the sneaker, with black accents on the rest. The heel clip is 3M, reflecting low-light conditions. A light orewood brown midsole and solid black rubber outsole finish the pair off.
The Jordan Trunner LX Light Orewood Brown W is set to release in Fall 2025. They will be available via Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. In women’s sizing, the retail price is $130. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
