Since starting with the 990v6 Baklava in 2023, Action Bronson has dabbled across NB’s lineup of silhouettes, launching three 1906Rs, two performance-oriented sneakers with the FuelCell Rebel v4 and Minimus Trail, and finally, the upcoming Amazõnia and Multi-Color 990v6s. However, Sole Retriever can report that Bronson will launch his first-ever 992 Made in USA project in 2025.
There are no images of Action Bronson’s take on the 992 silhouette, though we can confirm that the color palette consists of cosmic rose and magenta. The color palette is quite similar to his upcoming 990v6s, with the 992 silhouette likely combining these two vibrant shades with other contrasting colors to create something that only Bronsolino can cook up.

Originally released in 2006 as part of New Balance’s 100th Anniversary, the 992 marked another step in the evolution of the famous 99X series. The model only lasted approximately four years before being discontinued, though NB brought it back for its first retro run in 2020. During this time, collaborators began to put their mark on the sneaker, most famously Joe Freshgoods, who started his illustrious collaborative history with New Balance by dropping the No Emotions are Emotions 992.
Drops for the 992 have been quiet over the last few years, though Teddy Santis, founder of Aime Leon Dore and the current head of New Balance’s Made in USA series, teased us with the return of the sneaker when he posted a photo of a yellow and black colorway in June 2024. However, the first re-release of the 992 since its last retro run ended in 2022 came via Joe Freshgoods, who revisited the sneaker in the Aged Well colorway that pays homage to his original NB project. Outside of an upcoming Kith project on the sneaker, NB will release at least 14 different 992s in the coming year.
The Action Bronson x New Balance 992 Made in USA Cosmic Rose will release in September 2025 through Action Bronson’s website, New Balance, and possibly via select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $250. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
