$250 is a steep price to pay for sneakers, especially in today’s economic climate. However, New Balance can justify this with its Made In series, which recently debuted the latest model from the Flimby, UK, factory — the New Balance Allerdale. Inspired by outdoor hiking sneakers and the Allerdale region in the UK, the walking shoe has so far appeared in premium tumbled leather makeups like Brown and White. Now, NB is giving the sneaker a Brown Suede makeover.
The upper is fully covered in a uniform shade of brown, replacing leather with premium pigskin suede panels. This includes the mudguard, toebox, vamp, midfoot panel, collar, tongue, and heel. Contrasting the light brown are dark brown laces and D-ring eyelets, directly inspired by hiking boots.

Inside, the sockliner comes in a light tan shade, with the tongue lining hosting a hidden Allerdale embroidered tag featuring a depiction of the landscape found in Lake District National Park. Finishing the upper design are the embroidered NB logos on the midfoot in dark brown. Below sits a black rubber midsole and outsole, encapsulating the FuelCell cushioning setup.
The New Balance Allerdale Brown Suede has already been released via Extra Butter here in the US, but a global drop via New Balance and select retailers will follow by the end of April 2025. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $250.
