Successful revivals of retro sneakers have put New Balance in a great position entering 2025. However, the brand isn’t resting on its laurels and sticking to this formula, as NB has plans to bring forth a variety of new models. Alongside the 2010, a new “premium classic” from the label, we expect the Abzorb 2000, a viz-tech Y2K-inspired silhouette, to debut in the coming months. We have early images of the Dragon Berry rendition after a first look at the Baby Blue colorway.
The upper of the Abzorb 2000 utilizes a no-sew, futuristic-yet-retro appearance, with this Dragon Berry colorway coating most of the sneaker in this pink hue. A gradient of black to pink is found on the mudguard, which wraps around to form the lower eyelets and hosts hits of grey and black via its linear pattern. This same panel is mirrored on the top half of the upper, wrapping back to create the heel overlay.

Solid hits of black starkly contrast the vibrant color palette along the N logo on the midfoot, itself lined in grey and pink, as well as the laces and tongue. Here, we see 2000 branding stamped on the leather patch on the center of the tongue and NB logos on the pink mesh portion of the tongue. Finishing the upper is the black sockliner and pink open-spaced mesh base layer. Down below, the foam and Abzorb-cushioned midsole takes on a pink finish, with Abzorb pods appearing pillar-esque throughout the entire length of the shoe.
The New Balance Abzorb 2000 Dragon Berry will release in 2025 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price has yet to be revealed.
